Vitamin B5 also known as Pantothenic acid is an essential nutrient which belong to the category of water soluble vitamins. It is required for maintaining metabolic activities of our body. It also plays an important role in the synthesis of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Its name is derived from the Greek word panthothen meaning, ‘from everywhere’. Small amount of Vitamin B5 is found in every food. Vitamin B5 is used for the synthesising coenzyme A. This Coenzyme A is responsible for the transfer of carbon atoms inside the cell. For a healthy pregnancy presence of Vitamin B5 is essential. It is essential to all forms of life.
